Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is one of the largest faculties at the OTH Regensburg.

Our degree programmes are application-oriented and train hundreds of highly qualified engineers every year. Besides general mechanical engineering, our broad range of courses includes focuses in the areas of production and automation technology as well as medical technology.

Mechanical engineers from Regensburg enjoy a high reputation both regionally and nationally. In addition to excellent career prospects, our graduates have the opportunity to pursue a cooperative or joint doctorate.

At the OTH Regensburg you study using a hands-on and practice-oriented approach and graduate with either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.

Degree Programmes

At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (M) you can choose between four Bachelor's and three Master's degree programmes, some of which are offered in our dual studies programme. It is also possible to study part-time.

Our Bachelor's degree programmes: Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Automation, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronic Systems Engineering (part-time).
Our Master's degree programmes: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Medical Engineering

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering also contributes to the degree programmes Applied Research in Engineering Sciences, Building Climatology, Electrical and Microsystems Engineering, Industrial Design, Logistics, Mechatronics, and Renewable Energy Engineering and Energy Efficiency.

Research at the faculty

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is one of the most research intensive faculties at the OTH Regensburg.

We have a large number of laboratories available to our students for research and education. In addition, we conduct research on future-oriented topics at the Technology Campus Parsberg-Lupburg and in four university-wide research facilities (Regensburg Center).

Current research topics are, for example, hydrogen, energy generation and storage, 3D printing or implants for heart patients.
